First of all, I could`nt realy belive I was there, just the fact, seeing Mark Knopfler live. I`ve been a huge fan since the Golden Heart album. And then they starts to play!! Wow, blockbuster perfection!!!
This is a eksperience I will remember for ever!
It`s seven days till Mark and Emmylou`s koncert in Oslo, and unfortuently I`m not gonna be there...
But for all of you who will, enjoy!:)

My first MK consert!
I've been MK-fan since I could walk, when my dad turned on the Nec and Nec cd of Mark Knopfler. He alsow had a video of Dire Straits(that I almoast owerwrote) that has helped me with gitar lessons.
In Spectrum I could onley sitt back and listen to the awsome fingerpickin that I had admired so long...
I hope MK wil return with at new album soon, and hopefully hi tryes to avoid motorcycle-accsidents...

This was the set:
1) Why Aye Man (sound could have been better, but still - nice to have the guys on stage - expectations were high and rising...)
2) Walk of Life (old favourite of ours - good but not great this night - I'd prefer the country-flavoured version available on the "night in London"-DVD. However, this version was not that different from the original. Only difference was perhaps that the guitar was played a bit slower...)
3) What It Is (nice - but still slightly disappointing compared to the album version)
4) Sailing To Philadelphia (nice - one of many songs that shows what a great storyteller MK is. Still, nothing very special about this version)
5) Romeo and Juliet (truly magical to see MK touch his silvery acoustic guitar for the first time - excellent)
6) Sultans of Swing - FABULOUS - PERFECT GUITAR AND SOUND WAS FINALLY AS IT SHOULD BE!
7) Done with Bonaparte (third example of perfection in a row - what a great way to spend a friday night! In particular, MK and RBs dueling guitar-intro was excellent...)
8)Back to Tupelo (My favourite from the last album alongside Trawlerman. MK was drinking tea on stage. Laidback - perhaps a bit too laidback...)
9)Rüdiger (Still laidback - but this song works very well live)
10) Song for Sonny Liston (Great live version)
11) Boom Like That (sounded like an old DS-classic. I predict this will stay on the programme even for future tours to come. probably the new song that worked best)
12) Speedway at Nazareth (great - but not compared to the fantastic album version)
13) Telegraph Road (classic song - nothing wrong with this version, nothing new either...)
...as expected the guys left stage, to return (again as expected) with the following encore:
14) Brothers In Arms
15) Money for Nothing
16) So Far Away (best of the encores I believe)
17) Our Shangri-La (in my wiev, not among the most interesting songs on tha album - but still a good way to finish a great show... Even though I would have preferred the Local Hero-ending)
And then it was over...
a great show, indeed - even though the sound was uneven early on it improved and every one was (or should be) happy. Thanks, MK!...
...and it still wasn't dark yet in Oslo (2200) - we headed on to Muddy Waters for some blues...
