Good performance of many songs, walk of life, philadelphia, bonaparte, speedway and telegraph road he does better than ever! Incredible how he makes the gitar sing! Great voice, but I wish he could sing the three words "Brothers In Arms", insted of whisper them. Some songs he seem tired of playing, a smiling Mark on stage would make up for some missing old classics! He has a powerful, wonderful voice, and a beautiful English, I`d love to hear him talk more, during quit parts of songs, and between them. A show could improve a lot with little efford from Mark! What It Is, Boom Like That and Sonny Liston all have a big potensial, played "correctly". WII and SFSL are played too slowly, WII and BLT have too many instruments, and WII should have fiddle and more distinctive acustic gitar. Like on german TV back in 2000, the instrumental part of What It Is was fenomenal! I don`t feel we get to know the Mark Knopfler of today when he repeats the Dire Straits songs from tour to tour, same highlights in a way. He must please the crowd, but wonder if he pleases himself? His solomaterial is strong as hell, Summer Of Love, Metroland, Ambulance, APWWused To Live, Ragp.Dream all deserve to be played live. What about a solonight in London soon with fiddle on What It Is? He could play How Long, Single Handed Sailor, and maybe a fast Sultans Of Swing like Wembley -85, and then Shangri-la and Ragpicker-stuff would make up a killer set-list! How about it...?? Great, great show! I bought two tickets to this concert, one for myself and the other to my father who first introduced me to Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler, and then failed to get tickets himself. It was worth every penny. I assume I was one of the youngest, if not the youngest, in Haukelandshallen on Saturday. I just turned 18. The sound was surprisingly good considering the venue. The band was terrific. For longer periods people were standing with their eyes closed just enjoying the nostalgia the classics seemed to evoke. I expected to hear some of the oldies, goldies, and they didn't disappoint me. Sultans of Swing and Telegraph road were both beyond fantastic. Having said that, I, as well as the rest, loved the Shangri-La songs just as much as the songs from the Dire Straits epoch. Really a pleasure to finally see Mark Knopfler in action. I've been a fan since forever, so I have to thank him and his band for coming all the way to Bergen to play for us. I hope they had a good time and that they'll come back another time. -Thomas

Really nice concert, well played and the sound was actually quite good for a hall made for handball with really bad acoustics. All credits to the sound engineer. The band seemed to be in a very good mood, and we got both Mistcovered Mountains and Wild Theme as the last encores, also Tupelo was swapped with Donegan´s. Nice variations for us who went to both Oslo and Bergen. I suspect a professional recording of the show was made, we are currently looking into who. The suspicion rices from the fact that there were two reverb-mics in front of the light mix desk typical for porfessional recordings. The concert was a part of the Ole Blues festival which often gets recorded by norwegian radio. Very good Telegraph Road tonight! Setlist: 1. Why aye man 2. Walk of life 3. What it is 4. Sailing to Philadelphia 5. Romeo & Juliet 6. Sultans of swing 7. Done with Bonaparte 8. Donegan`s gone 9. Rudiger 10. Song for Sonny Liston 11. Boom like that 12. Speedway at Nazareth 13. Telegraph road 14. Brothers in arms 15. Money for nothing 16. So far away 17. Mistcovered Mountains 18. Wild Theme
