Saw Mark and band last night at the Meadowbrook Music Fest north of Detroit, MI. Crowd was mostly aged mid 40's to mid 50's. I saw Wilco here a couple weeks ago, and was suprised to see they drew a few more fans (albeit a younger crowd). The last few rows in the pavillion were not filled. That's a shame considering how good the music was.
Sound was good, and loud! I would have liked to hear a couple more songs from the current album, but Boom like that was very well received. Telegraph road for me was the best song played, and the crowd seemed to agree giving one of many standing ovations.
There didn't seem to be an abundance of talk from the stage, but that just left time for straight playing - it was my third time seeing Mark, and I have never been disappointed. The Sonny Liston song was amazing for how great it sounded with only three on stage.
Was hoping to hear one more song at the end, and the crowd was loud at that point, but I guess the curfew kicked in. All in all though, well worth the hour and a half drive from Toledo, Ohio!
