I enjoyed the gig immensely and totally agree about mark's and emmy's cool sounding vocal mixes, hope they try to pair up again sometime!just wished it had of been a bit longer and also would have enjoyed hearing Local Hero theme at the end,but you can't have everything.this was only my second gig,the first being the previous year, again at the M.E.N. for the Shangri-la Tour, always been a fan going back to the early eighties with Dire Straits, but this man live is just phenomenal!Give me more! The album ATR is a gem and his best album is always his next one!

Well i was going to sit down and write a thorough review in great detail of all the good points and any bad points. So here goes Bad Points ................... no sorry can,t think of any.Another hour would have been nice though. Good points...........UMM where do i start. Well sorry but the whole concert from start to finish was superb. The whole band played and sounded brilliantly.Emmylou WOW !!! what a voice.that lady can sure sing. The vocals between her and Mark went together so well. Also Guy's singing on a couple of Emmylou's solo songs were quite hauntingly beautiful.Once again i'm amazed at how much better some of the new songs sounded live.Right Now started of the set and sounded great.Red Staggerwing was different class live just a bunch of fantastically talented musicians having a great time enjoying themselves.I get the impression they could have just played and played all night whether there was 1 fan or 10,000 fans watching. They all seemed so relaxed and happy to be there.Maybe the shortness of this tour has something to do with that.MK's voice sounds better and better.Loved Shangri-La live. Also the duets on Gibson's between MK and RB on I Dug Up a Diamond was worth the ticket price on it's own.For me once again the high spot of the night was Song For Sonny Liston including an even longer solo in the middle by MK for me his vocals have definitely got better over the years but to hear him make that Les Paul sound so great those tones that you just know its Mark Knopfler playing without having to see or be told. It's what got me into his music and why i'll keep coming back for more.Like a fine wine the man just gets better with age.Speedway was once again the closer for the main set and WOW it was loud again but none the worse for that.Only one word can describe the encores "BEAUTIFUL".If This Is Goodbye i can unashamedly say bought a tear to my eye.And the final encore .................. Why worry??? Never having really known much about Emmy Lou Harris i was a little concerned about what i assumed {and sorry here to any Emmy Lou fans for my ignorance} was a country and western singer singing on some classic Knopfler tunes.Well Why Worry indeed??. Any fears i had were blown away by this fantastic version of one of my favourite songs from BIA.Just MK his guitar Emmylou's vocals and the keyboard skills of Guy Fletcher. What an amazing end to a truly wonderful concert. To sum up,something for everyone.Great vocals fantastic musicianship, hauntingly beautiful songs and fast rockers, sad songs fun songs but every one bringing something different.

Great Gig – Emmylou’s and marks voices were a good pairing, and gave a new feeling to some songs. Speedway at Nazareth was blistering. The whole set would make a superb live CD

Brilliant concert with world class musicians! Emmylou's voice is awesome and every song was a diamond.'Speedway to Nazareth' was tremendous. Mark has a wonderful relaxed manner on stage - almost modest and not the typical 'showman' image you might expect from such a great musician - let's not forget he wrote all but 2 of those tracks on 'All the Road Running' and Emmylou wrote the reamining ones - 2 top class performers with an exceptional band of talent -can't call them a backing group; they are far more than that! No need for props, fancy effects at this show - the music stands on its own; as Emmylou said:'It's good to perfom to people who love good music'- how true!
