This was the first time for me to experience a concert of him. A friend of mine introduced me to his music and since then I'm a big fan. This concert was really breathtaking, I was shaking and sweating.. It was great; and the quality.. they are true artists! I'm defenitely going to his next show :)

I experienced this concert in a sort of trance. It was my first time to see a Mark Knopfler concert, but I'm a fan since I was six or seven years old. It was really one of the greatest moments of my life so far! And I hope to witness his next tour! P.s.: if anybody has recordings and/or photographs of this concert, please contact me! maybe we can exchange stuff then!

Martin and my brother Nick, from Basel, Switzerland At about 3pm we decided to dash down to Frankfurt and after the Basel-show to see the second concert of Mark and the mates. All went perfect and we ended up with nice seats down on the floor area. At 20:17 the big moment! All in all a great concert with an excellent crowd in the vast venue/arena. Donegan's gone and Shangri-La were new ones for us live and especially Shangri-La was the perfect ender of the show. Highlights: Why aye man, STP, Sultans, T-R, Song for Sonny Liston, Shangri-La. Lowlights: Sound, especially Mark's guitar, only got better as of Sultans, no surprises, no communication with the crowd. Over all: Great concert! Folks, go out and see Mark and the mates, you are in for an evening of your life-time! Kind regards to all MK-fans, Martin

Hi, in the TR-Mailing-List someone wrote “the audience was for German rapports very veryyyy cool”. I´d like to underline that: VERY good audience in Frankfurt! No surprise for me. :-) The spirit was (a lot) better than in Munich; a more mixed audience (more younger people), too. But, right, the sound in the Festhalle...the common problem. :-/ The whole public was standing after Telegraph Road! I managed to stand near the stage (which is not that easy for me) – how fascinating! Being so close and watching Mark Knopfler – one more time and for the 1st time since back in 1996! That guitar-technique – just hypnotising!!! It seems that he also had fun, cause of the audience-enthusiasm. And in the little “band-conference” it looked as he several times said “Shangri-La”. Unfortunately no GH-stuff. Once again I´d like to mention that I enjoyed hearing Danny Cummings – and watching, especially on Liston. ;-). M.K. introduced him as “Dunny Cummings from Dire Straits – Rock´n´Roll-Band”. :-) There was a nice little TR-members-meeting before the concert. A perfect evening in Frankfurt with Mark Knopfler! Regards, March

Yeah! It was a wonderful concert with our music-hero Mark Knopfler and his fantastical band. In this majestic building the sound blowed me away, really i was near of the boxes. But it took me high. Once more again i heard my greatest love of music. The best for me was -Why aye man-, more powerful than in Stuttgart. Excuse me. -Sultans of Swing-goood and -Speedway at Nazareth was like a thunderstorm and -Telegraph Road- was suuuuuper goooooooood. This concert was my own -Shangri-La-. I hope everybody will find his Shangri-La anyway. Thank you Mark and all the wonderful people of this excellent stage. See you in Cologne again.

As we experienced the very rare appearance of the late Lonnie Donegan on stage together with the Notting Hillbillies at Ronnie Scott's in London back in 1998, "Donegan's Gone" is always one of the highlights for us, next to "Telegraph Road", "Sultans of swing" and "Brothers In Arms", of course. Had our seats in the front row on the balcony, next to the stage. How great it is taking perfect photographs with official allowance !

What a great show! I never saw Mark before, but it was far better than I thought (and I really looked forward for the show). The setlist was: Why Aye Man Walk Of Life What It Is Sailing To Philadelphia Romeo And Juliet Sultans Of Swing Done With Bonaparte Song For Sonny Liston Donegan's Gone Rüdiger Boom Like That (yes Boom was played before Speedway) Speedway At Nazareth Telegraph Road ------------ Brothers In Arms Money For Nothing So Far Away Our Shangri-La From the encores til the end everyone was standing, "telegraph road" was surely the highlight
