After having enjoyed the great MK-gigs in Hannover and in Hamburg this April, we have decided to travel from Northern Germany to Italy to hear Mark's wonderful music in lovely mediterranean open air atmosphere. We do hope to become part of an ENTHUSIASTIC crowd there!!!

Ah yeah!

Best songs: What it is, Sultans of swing, Song for Sonny Liston, Boom,Like That, Speedway at Nazareth, Telegraph road, Money for Nothing.
Ciao!!!!
Enrico (Rockruby)
p.s. Ma quando sentiremo live Silvertown Blues, Our Shangri-la, 5.15 a.m., The trawlerman's song, Hill farmer blues e Devil baby ???

Man, that was a great weekend. My last concert for this tour but what a night! The concert was really great ... err - wait, one after the other:
I woke up in my bed at home on Saturday at 4:00 a.m. then my dad took me to the railway station of my hometown. I travelled first to Vienna and then I switched to another train for going towards to Villach. This journey took me almost 5 hours. I arrived in Villach at around 12:00 a.m.. There my friends from Bavaria, Flo, Nadine and Fabian were already waiting for me. Then we went to Stra by car and arrived at 2:00 p.m. where we met Thomas, who was at the show in Milan the day before, at our hotel. We checked in and went to the venue.
Lots and lots of fans were already waiting in front of the entry doors. At 7:15 p.m. the doors were opened and we were running to the stage. We got good places in the crowd which was surely over 15.000 people. We met two Indian guys who had video cameras with them. So we can wait for a Video-bootleg... ;-). I also installed the microphones of my friend Joost who was so kind and lent them to me for recording this great show.
Alright, opener: "Why Aye Man" - totally awesome, the crowd sang with MK the chorus. Next: "Walk Of Life" - the crowd went mad. "What It Is" was next - very good version also from "Sailing To Philadelphia". Then the first must for all the DS-fans "Romeo & Juliet". After this beautiful song the crowd started singing "Olé Olé" and the band joined them with auditional support :-) - very nice! "Sultans Of Swing" followed - the crowd shaked and enjoyed a truly timeless and evergreen song of the great Dire Straits. "Done With Bonaparte" followed. "Song For Sonny Liston" came then which was a different version of Marks solos and so on. Then they played "Donegan's Gone" - Mark slided very well. "Boom, Like That" was next - some Rock 'n' Roll stuff as Mark said. Followed by "Speedway At Nazareth" - rock up your ass!!! Still the loudest song of this tour. "Telegraph Road" finished the regular set - Mark played his new Pensa he got as a present from Rudy Pensa in person ;-). Beautiful played with a beautiful guitar. "Brothers In Arms" was the first encore - you could see many fire lights in the crowd. Followed by "Money For Nothing", the crowd could rock, headbang and sing with Mark again. Great version! "So Far Away" was unfortunately the last song but very well played. After this song the fans were shouting for "Our Shangri-La" but the band didn't return. Maybe the had to go to their planes for their flight to the next city. I don't think that Mark didn't want to play no more because his face showed that he liked the venue and the crowd very much.
Anyway - the concert and the typical Italian atmosphaire were really great. It was very nice being there.
Me and my friends went for a beer and a pizza after the great show. Then we went back to our hotel.
The next day I returned to my hometown by train and I'm really great that I've taken many, many pics and made a good bootleg of the show. I'll surely hold this wonderful weekend in my memories!!!
CheerZZZ!
